Ferran Torres has aimed a sarcastic blast at La Liga and president Javier Tebas after seeing a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside during Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Celta Vigo.

The Spain international thought he had made it 2-0 in the second half. A beautiful volley. A great ball from Pedri. The net bulged. The fans celebrated.

Then came the flag.

Offside, said the assistant. No goal. No explanation. Just a linesman’s flag and a baffled striker.

‘What an eye’
Torres did not hold back after the final whistle. He took to social media with images of the offside decision and added a sarcastic message aimed at the assistant referee.

“What an eye.”

He also made sure to tag Javier Tebas. The La Liga president. The man who oversees it all.

It was a savage dig. Deliberate. Calculated. And absolutely ruthless.

Flick: ‘I’d like an explanation’
Hansi Flick was equally confused after the match. The Barcelona boss could not understand why the goal had been ruled out.

“I’d like an explanation as to why it was ruled offside,” he said. “I saw the photo, the same one you all saw.”

That is the problem. Everyone saw the same photo. And nobody understood the decision.

The bigger picture
The win restored Barcelona’s nine point lead at the top of the table. That is the important thing. Three points. Another step closer to the title.

But the frustration lingers. Torres should have had his goal. The assistant should have kept his flag down. And La Liga’s officiating standards are under scrutiny once again.

Barcelona have six games left. They head to Getafe next. The title is theirs to lose.

But Torres will not forget this. Neither will Flick. And neither will the fans.

The bottom line
Ferran Torres does not usually make headlines for his social media posts. But this one was different.

“What an eye.” Three words. Dripping with sarcasm. Directed at the officials and the league president.

It was a savage dig. And it will not go unnoticed.

La Liga may have given Barcelona the win. But they also gave Torres a reason to be angry. And he has made sure everyone knows about it.
