Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has once again offered his services to Barcelona as the Catalan club intensifies its search for a new centre forward following Robert Lewandowski’s departure, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Serbian international, whose contract expires on June 30, is approaching the end of his Juventus tenure with renewal negotiations having stalled. The Italian club have given the 26 year old until the end of the month to communicate his final decision, growing increasingly frustrated with his indecisiveness over a new deal featuring reduced fixed wages with performance related incentives .
Alvarez Remains Priority Target
Barcelona’s primary focus continues to centre on Julian Alvarez, with the Argentine having publicly declared his desire to leave Atletico Madrid this summer . The 26 year old, valued at approximately €200 million, has made clear his ambition to join the Blaugrana, telling reporters: “I can’t hide it. I spoke with Atletico de Madrid, and I think a transfer is the best option. I want to fulfil my dream” .
Club officials view Alvarez as the ideal long term successor to Lewandowski, with his movement, pressing, versatility and ability to connect with a young attack led by Lamine Yamal considered a perfect fit for Hansi Flick’s system . However, negotiations with Atletico are expected to be extremely complicated, with the Rojiblancos reportedly flat out refusing to sell to a direct La Liga rival .
Ferran Torres Uncertainty Creates Opening
Barcelona’s search for attacking reinforcements is not solely driven by Lewandowski’s departure. Questions also remain over Ferran Torres’s future amid interest from Paris Saint Germain . The Spanish forward, under contract until 2027, has attracted attention from Luis Enrique’s side as a potential replacement should Bradley Barcola depart .
Torres himself has dismissed the speculation, stating during Spain’s World Cup campaign: “I don’t know, and I don’t care right now” . Nevertheless, his non committal response when asked whether he could guarantee staying at Barcelona next season has increased uncertainty within the club’s attacking plans .
Vlahovic as Alternative Option
Sensing an opportunity, Vlahovic has again made his availability known to Barcelona. The Serbian offers a more traditional profile as a penalty box striker and aerial target, differing from Alvarez’s game built around movement and combination play .
While Vlahovic is not considered the preferred choice to become Barcelona’s starting number nine, the prospect of signing an experienced striker without paying a transfer fee makes the operation more attractive, particularly if Ferran were to leave during the same window .
However, a move would still represent a significant financial commitment. Vlahovic is seeking a salary of around €8 million per season along with a signing bonus worth approximately €15 million . Reports suggest Barcelona consider his wage demands too high and inconsistent with their financial plans .
Bayern Munich, Besiktas and Atletico Madrid have all been linked with the Serbian in recent weeks . For now, Barcelona’s priority remains Alvarez, with Eli Junior Kroupi reportedly viewed as a backup option .
