Arne Slot is getting the scissors out.

Three games left of the Premier League season. Champions League qualification still up for grabs. But make no mistake, the Dutchman’s already got one eye on the summer clear out.

Liverpool fell 3-2 to Manchester United at the weekend. Damage done. Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford remain. Win those? Europe beckons. But for some players, the race for the top four won’t matter. Their race is already run.

Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, we knew about them. But there’s more heading for the exit. Some confirmed. Some just… obvious.

Here’s six who might’ve pulled on the famous red shirt for the final time.

Mohamed Salah LEAVING (confirmed)

The King of Egypt announced his departure back in March. Nine years. Two Premier League titles. One Champions League. Over 250 goals. A modern day immortal.

He’s currently nursing a minor muscle injury. Might return before the season ends. Might not. Either way, his Liverpool career is done.

The only question now is whether we’ve already seen his last dance.

Andy Robertson LEAVING (confirmed)

Subbed off just before the hour against United. Almost a decade at Anfield. Three hundred and seventy seven appearances. Fourteen goals. Sixty nine assists. Nine trophies.

Slot might decide to give minutes to defenders who’ll actually be here next season. Which means Robbo’s farewell might’ve already happened without anyone realising.

If Sunday was it? What a servant.

Wataru Endo LIKELY SOLD

When did Endo last play for Liverpool? February. A 1-0 win at Sunderland. He was filling in at right back not his position, got stretchered off with an ankle injury.

Slot said he’d be “out for a long, long time.” Aiming to be fit for the World Cup with Japan. That tells you everything.

He’s 33. Barely featured before the injury. Mostly used as a crisis filler. The kind of player Liverpool need to move on if they want to rebuild properly.

His last act? Playing out of position, getting injured, putting the team first. Can’t ask for more than that.

Federico Chiesa SOLD (surely)

Came on late against United. Promptly got rinsed by Jamie Carragher for a sloppy error in stoppage time.

Three hundred minutes all season. Barely used. Doesn’t start. Doesn’t impact. Reports in Italy say he wants a Serie A return. Liverpool won’t stand in his way.

With Champions League qualification on the line over the next three games, Slot isn’t throwing Chiesa into the XI. Not a chance.

His Liverpool career has been a £10million shrug. Time to cut losses.

Harvey Elliott PERMANENT VILLA BOUND (probably)

This one’s complicated.

Elliott is on loan at Aston Villa. There’s a permanent buy clause: ten Premier League appearances and Villa must pay £35million. So far? He’s made five league appearances.

Unai Emery has been using him mostly in the Europa League. Convenient, that.

There’s also talk of Elliott being used in a cash plus player deal for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande this summer. Either way, he’s not coming back to Anfield.

His last game for Liverpool was August 2025, the Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace. Came on as a sub. Barely touched it. Didn’t know it at the time, but that was goodbye.

Kostas Tsimikas ALREADY GONE (spiritually)

The Greek left back hasn’t played for Liverpool since May 2025. He joined Roma on loan last summer. Eleven starts all season.

There’s been talk of him returning to be back up to Milos Kerkez. But why would he? He’s 30. He needs to play.

Even if he does come back, Slot won’t keep him. A year away, barely any football, and a younger man now ahead of him in the pecking order.

Tsimikas has already worn the Liverpool shirt for the last time. Just hasn’t been made official yet.

The bottom line

Salah. Robertson. Endo. Chiesa. Elliott. Tsimikas.

That’s six players who need replacing. Some legends. Some passengers. Some who just got unlucky.

Slot spent £446million last summer. Got little back. Now he needs to spend again but first, he needs to shift the deadwood.

Three games left. Then the real work begins.
