MUNICH, June 27. Paris Saint Germain are closely monitoring Michael Olise’s performances at the World Cup, with the Champions League holders exploring a potential move for the Bayern Munich winger, according to Kicker.
The French champions are not alone in their admiration. Real Madrid are also understood to be tracking the 24 year old, who has registered three assists in two appearances for France at the tournament. However, reports from France suggest Olise is more interested in a move to the Spanish capital should he decide to leave Bavaria.
Bayern, for their part, have no intention of selling. The former Crystal Palace star is under contract until 2029, leaving the Bundesliga side in a strong negotiating position. The club have repeatedly insisted Olise is not for sale and are understood to be open to extending his stay beyond its current term.
For now, there is little reason to believe Olise is leaving Bayern Munich any time soon. But PSG, in their current role as the world’s best club team, could eventually prove tempting. There is no reason to worry yet.
Anderson completes £116m City move
Manchester City have secured the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for a fee of £116 million, with transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirming the deal is done.
The England international asked Forest to allow him to leave today, and City have now booked a medical for the midfielder in New York. The transfer represents one of the most significant moves of the summer window and underlines City’s intent to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Liverpool eye Bouaddi
Liverpool have registered a firm interest in signing Lille and Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, according to ESPN.
The 18 year old has impressed at the World Cup, attracting suitors from across Europe. Arsenal are also understood to be monitoring the teenager, with Lille expecting to receive a fee in the region of €70 million for their prized asset. Bouaddi and his club could be the two entities who benefit most from this tournament if the youngster continues to bolster his reputation.
Cuisance heading to Lens
Former Bayern Munich midfielder Michaël Cuisance is on his way to Lens, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
The Frenchman’s spell at Bayern remains one of the most puzzling acquisitions of the modern era. There was no playing time to offer him and no discernible reason to rush the move. Cuisance’s immaturity and handling of the situation made the transfer a laughingstock. All in all, it was a disaster for the #StepOverKing.
Neymar pulls out of Cincinnati talks
Neymar has withdrawn from negotiations to join MLS side FC Cincinnati, according to The Athletic.
The 34 year old, who is on World Cup duty with Brazil, is said to be frustrated with the slow progress of talks. Cincinnati never made a formal offer for the winger, who remains open to joining an MLS team. It remains unclear what is next for the former Barcelona and PSG star, who could continue his career in Brazil rather than uprooting himself for a move to Ohio.
