Paris Saint Germain have reignited their interest in Victor Osimhen just months after the Nigerian striker completed a permanent move to Galatasaray, according to Soccernet.ng.
The dramatic shift in Paris follows a Goal.com report claiming that manager Luis Enrique has made a surprise U turn on his long-standing reluctance to sign the Super Eagles star. The former Barcelona boss had previously resisted any move for Osimhen, fearing his fiery temperament could unsettle the dressing room. But waning performances from Gonçalo Ramos and structural concerns in PSG’s attack have forced a rethink.
Sporting director Luis Campos, who has quietly maintained contact with Osimhen’s camp throughout his stay in Istanbul, has now been cleared to accelerate negotiations. PSG view next summer as a realistic window for a deal, with Enrique no longer blocking a profile he once vetoed.
Real Madrid, however, are already deep into their own pursuit. The Spanish champions are reportedly preparing a bid in excess of €100 million, seeing Osimhen as the “pure No. 9” missing from their current system. With the intention of restoring Kylian Mbappé to his preferred left wing role next season, Madrid believe the Nigerian’s physicality, pace and ruthless finishing would finally give them a central focal point.
The situation in Istanbul remains firm for now. Galatasaray have no intention of listening to offers in January and want their marquee signing to finish the season. But privately, the club acknowledge that an offer north of €100m could test their resolve, especially after paying €75m to bring Osimhen in from Napoli.
Barcelona are also monitoring developments as they prepare for life after Robert Lewandowski, whose contract expires next June, adding yet another heavyweight name to an already crowded race.
Madrid’s urgency has been sharpened by uncertainty over Vinícius Júnior’s future. The Brazilian is said to be unwilling to discuss a new contract amid tensions with manager Xabi Alonso, raising the possibility of a broader attacking overhaul at the Bernabéu one that would place Mbappé on the left and Osimhen through the middle.
Osimhen’s form has only heightened the interest. The 25 year old has hit six goals in just three Champions League matches, topping the scoring charts and reminding Europe’s elite exactly why he remains one of the most feared forwards in world football.
