Harry Kane has moved to cool speculation over a potential summer switch to Barcelona, insisting there has been “no contact” with the Catalan giants despite reports placing him at the top of their striker shortlist.
Barcelona are believed to be assessing long term replacements for Robert Lewandowski, with Kane viewed as an ideal fit, a proven, high volume goalscorer capable of leading the line in the post Lewandowski era.
But the England captain has poured cold water on the growing rumours. Speaking to Bild, Kane said he feels “very comfortable” at Bayern Munich and is in no hurry to address his future.
“So no rush. I’m really happy in Munich. It’s very unlikely that anything will change after this season,” he added, signalling that any move to Spain remains distant.
Kane, now 32, is understood to have a release clause in the region of €65 million, a figure that could tempt Barcelona if they intensify their pursuit next summer. For the moment, though, the striker appears fully committed to Bayern’s campaign and is not entertaining thoughts of leaving Bavaria.
