A shell shocked Real Oviedo manager Guillermo Almada was left searching for superlatives after his side were undone by a moment of magic from Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, describing the winger as a “player from another galaxy.”

Barcelona’s 3-0 victory, which propelled them back to the La Liga summit, was effectively sealed by Yamal’s breathtaking second half strike, a solo effort that left the Oviedo defence in tatters and the Camp Nou in raptures.

“We are talking about a player from another galaxy,” Almada confessed in his post match press conference, his side now stranded four points adrift at the bottom. “He has so much quality and delivers in key moments. He is already a star that, despite his age, is able to decide matches.”

The Oviedo boss cut a frustrated figure, believing his team’s disciplined gameplan was undone by costly errors against unforgiving opposition. “I feel a little sad. We were having a good game, competing on equal terms. The first half was very evenly matched. It’s not easy to control Barcelona like we did.”

He pinpointed the cruel reality of facing elite talent: “Our mistakes cost us dearly in areas where we couldn’t afford to make them. The caliber of the players we faced wasn’t going to forgive us.”

Almada’s analysis highlighted the match’s decisive turn. While Oviedo restricted Barcelona to few clear chances for over an hour, Yamal’s moment of individual brilliance, followed quickly by a second goal from a turnover, shattered their resistance. “After the goals, I only remember one or two more chances because we had to take more risks,” he admitted.

For Barcelona, the win is a massive statement in the title race, shifting pressure back onto rivals Real Madrid. For Yamal, it’s another chapter in a rapid ascent that is captivating Spanish football. For Oviedo, the task is now stark: a monumental fight for survival. “In our next home game, we have to try to get a win that will give us a boost,” Almada said, knowing the margin for error has all but vanished. Against players from another galaxy, there simply isn’t any.
