Manchester City have Condemn the Online racist slurs directed at captain Kyle Walker after Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League defeat to Juventus.
The 34-year-old defender was targeted with racist insults following City’s defeat to Juve, which left the Premier League team struggling in 22nd spot in Europe’s top-tier club contest.

“We will not tolerate prejudice of any form, whether that be in arenas or online. We are offering Kyle our unwavering support after the appalling behavior he has endured,” City stated on Thursday.

The Premier League also voiced its backing for Walker and City in handling digital hatred and declared: “… racism has no position in our sport or anywhere within society.”

Earlier, Walker shared a snapshot of the insults he faced on social media, stating: “Nobody should have to experience the sort of hateful, racist, and threatening comments I have encountered online after last night’s game.

“Instagram and the authorities must put an end to this occurring for the sake of everyone enduring such abuse. It is completely unacceptable.”

City are faltering with only one victory in their past 10 matches across all tournaments, and Walker remarked: “To our supporters, we promise to keep working as a group to improve, progress, and turn things around collectively.”
