The 2026/27 UEFA Champions League will return in October with another round of league phase fixtures, as Europe’s leading clubs continue their campaign under the competition’s 36-team format.
Matchday 2 is scheduled for October 13 and 14, with several high-profile games on the programme. The league phase features eight matchdays, with each club playing eight different opponents before the competition moves into the knockout rounds.
Champions League fixtures on October 13
The first day of Matchday 2 includes a number of important fixtures involving clubs that made winning or contrasting starts to their campaigns.
Arsenal will host Lille after beginning their European campaign with a 1-0 victory away to Napoli. Mikel Arteta’s side will be looking to build on that result when the French club visits England.
Atlético de Madrid will face Manchester United, while Inter Milan host Club Brugge. Barcelona will also be in action away to Galatasaray after opening their campaign with a 5-1 win over Feyenoord.
Other fixtures on October 13 include Lens against Sporting CP, Sabah against Slavia Praha, Leipzig against PSV Eindhoven, Viking against Bayern Munich and Villarreal against Napoli.
The schedule gives Bayern an away trip to Viking following their emphatic 5-0 opening victory over Bodø/Glimt. Napoli, meanwhile, will be attempting to respond after losing at home to Arsenal on Matchday 1.
More major games on October 14
The second day of Matchday 2 brings another collection of significant fixtures.
Manchester City will host Paris Saint-Germain in one of the standout meetings of the round. City began the league phase with a 2-0 victory away to Porto, while Paris opened with a convincing 6-1 home win over Slovan Bratislava.
Real Madrid will travel to Roma, while Liverpool face an away game against LASK. Liverpool started their campaign with a 2-1 home victory over Atlético de Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund will visit Bodø/Glimt, Aston Villa will welcome Fenerbahçe and Real Betis will host Porto. Shakhtar Donetsk will also meet AEK Athens, while Feyenoord face Como and Slovan Bratislava take on Stuttgart.

The 2026/27 league phase will continue through January, with Matchday 3 scheduled for October 20 and 21, followed by further rounds in November, December and January. The league phase concludes on January 27, 2027, when all 18 matches on the final matchday will be played simultaneously.
The Champions League final is scheduled for June 5, 2027, at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.
