Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi commended Lautaro Martinez’s overall display in the victory over Parma, even though the Argentine forward felt annoyed after a penalty ruling was reversed while another goal was annulled.

Inter convincingly secured a 3-1 home triumph against Parma, with an own goal by Matteo Darmian being their only flaw.
The Inter skipper, however, was visibly annoyed with the missed chances and his inability to register on the scoresheet.

“He’s extremely significant. His defensive contribution at the end was a strong statement. As a previous striker, I recognize the stress of scoring, but he needs to remain composed and continue aiding the team in this manner,” Inzaghi explained to journalists.

“The goals will come; they always do for him.”

Despite his team’s dominant showing, Inzaghi admitted that the conceded goal was avoidable.

“I’m really pleased with what the boys delivered. We demonstrated aggression and concentration against a side that has been performing exceptionally. I’m absolutely delighted,” Inzaghi remarked.

“The only drawback was the goal we allowed—it wasn’t justified. If I had to highlight one issue, it would be that. But overall, I’m thrilled with the squad’s effort.”

When questioned about Inter’s player rotation, Inzaghi acknowledged the intense schedule was taking a toll.

“I’ve got 25 players, including goalkeepers, and I wouldn’t exchange them for anyone from another club,” he stated.

“We’ve got a grueling timetable ahead, including the Supercoppa. It’ll be more challenging for us, but we’ve known that all along.”
