EVERTON. David Moyes is pushing to bring Jarrod Bowen back to the Premier League, with Everton initiating contact with West Ham United over a summer deal for the England international, according to reports from Football Insider.

The 29 year old forward is understood to be open to a departure from the London Stadium following the Hammers’ relegation to the Championship, and he is expected to leave this summer. The versatile attacker has been a talismanic presence for West Ham, amassing 85 goals and 63 assists in 280 appearances across all competitions .

Moyes, who signed Bowen from Hull City for over £20 million in January 2020 and managed him at West Ham, has identified the forward as his primary summer target . An initial bid of around £20 million is understood to have been prepared , though this figure is likely to fall well short of West Ham’s valuation.

Valuation gap and competition

West Ham are reported to value their captain at closer to £50 million , with some estimates reaching as high as £80/100 million given his contract runs until 2030 and includes no relegation wage cut clause . Everton face an additional challenge, as Bowen has reportedly been waiting to assess whether a Champions League club will make a concrete offer before committing .

Aston Villa have expressed a strong interest in Bowen, with Unai Emery a “huge admirer” of the forward, though Villa would need to sell players before making a move . Manchester United have also been credited with an interest, but West Ham are hopeful of retaining their captain for their Championship promotion push .

Moyes’s need for attacking reinforcements

Everton’s pursuit of Bowen reflects a clear need. No Toffees player managed double figure Premier League goals in the 2025/26 campaign, and the club are also concerned about Iliman Ndiaye’s long term future amid links with Premier League bigwigs. Bowen, who managed 11 goals and 12 assists in 42 appearances last season, offers both the goal threat and creative output Everton currently lack .

Bowen has previous Championship experience, having scored 22 goals in the 2018/19 season for Hull City while earning a place in the division’s Team of the Season. But whether Everton can convince him to rejoin a reunion with Moyes in Merseyside while Champions League suitors hover remains uncertain.
