MUNICH. Bayern Munich are preparing to offer Michael Olise a lucrative contract extension that would almost double his current salary and keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2031, as the Bundesliga champions move to fend off mounting interest from Real Madrid .

The France international, who has impressed at the World Cup with two assists against Iraq and another goal creating contribution against Senegal, has emerged as a primary target for the Spanish giants following a stellar 2025-26 campaign in which he registered 26 assists for Bayern .

According to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern are ready to elevate Olise’s earnings from approximately €15 million to around €25 million annually, placing him alongside Harry Kane as one of the club’s highest earners .

“You’ve heard the saying, if in trouble, make it double,” Falk said. “The trouble is from Real Madrid, they really want him, and they’re fully aware of just how good he was in the Bundesliga this season. He was the player of the year in Germany” .

The proposed five year extension would reflect Olise’s rise from a mid tier earner following his €50 million move from Crystal Palace to a pivotal figure in Vincent Kompany’s starting XI . Despite Florentino Perez recently hinting at a potential €150 million bid for a player outside the Premier League, widely interpreted as Olise, Bayern have made clear they have no intention of selling .

While Bayern hold a pragmatic stance regarding contract negotiations, having previously allowed the likes of Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané and Leon Goretzka to run down their deals, Olise’s existing contract runs until 2029, affording the club time to secure his long term commitment . The club are optimistic that the Frenchman will spurn interest from Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain, though nothing is yet finalised.

Real Madrid maintain Schlotterbeck interest despite injury

Meanwhile, Real Madrid remain keen on Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck despite the German international suffering an ankle injury at the World Cup that is expected to sideline him for approximately two months .

The 26 year old centre back features prominently on Real’s defensive shortlist alongside Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni, with the Spanish club actively seeking reinforcements for a backline that endured significant problems last season . Reports suggest Manchester City’s Ruben Dias is unlikely to be attainable, leaving Schlotterbeck and Bastoni as the primary targets .

Schlotterbeck’s recent contract renewal with Dortmund included a release clause allowing him to leave for select clubs including Real Madrid, for approximately €50 million, though that window closes at the end of July . The injury, sustained during the group stage, has complicated the operation, with the defender unlikely to be available for the start of La Liga, a prospect that has not pleased manager Jose Mourinho .

However, Mundo Deportivo reports that the setback has not entirely closed the door on a potential move, with Real continuing to monitor his recovery progress .

Besiktas make Vlahovic push

In other transfer news, Besiktas have submitted a substantial offer for Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović, whose contract expires this summer . The Turkish club are willing to offer the Serbian forward a €10 million annual salary plus a €5 million signing bonus, with manager Vincenzo Italiano who previously coached Vlahović at Fiorentina, driving the pursuit .

The 26 year old is reportedly hesitant about a move to the Süper Lig and continues to hold out for an offer from a top European club, though interest from Atlético Madrid and Barcelona has yet to materialise into a formal proposal . Juventus have made a last ditch attempt to retain their striker with a one year contract worth approximately €8 million including bonuses, but Vlahović appears likely to depart Turin after scoring 68 goals in 168 appearances .
