Karim Benzema has lifted the lid on his legendary partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, admitting he learned “a lot” from the Portuguese icon, including movements, runs, pressing and how to handle the pressure.
Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr are the two biggest names at the Bernabeu right now. On paper, they are one of the world’s strongest attacking units.
But let us be honest. They are not Ronaldo and Benzema. Not yet. Not even close.
The Frenchman, speaking to the media, did not hold back when asked about his former teammate.
‘It was amazing’
Benzema’s time at Madrid was defined by trophies, goals and a partnership that terrorised Europe. Ronaldo was the headline act. Benzema was the perfect foil.
“Ronaldo? It was amazing to play with Cristiano,” the Real Madrid legend said.
That is the simple truth. Two egos. One mission. And it worked.
‘I learned a lot’
Benzema gave credit where it was due. Ronaldo taught him. Ronaldo pushed him. Ronaldo made him better.
“I learned a lot from him, especially in terms of movements, runs inside the box, pressing and how to handle it.”

‘50 goals a season unbelievable’
Benzema was asked what it was like to watch Ronaldo score year after year from close range.
“This guy was scoring more than 50 goals a season, it was unbelievable, man.”

Ronaldo will feature at the upcoming World Cup. Benzema will not. He announced his international retirement back in 2022.
