PSG are looking to sell a few unwanted squad players this summer, and we could yet see Randal Kolo Muani sold.
While it’s very clear that the French champions don’t want to change too much of their almost perfect first team squad, there is plenty of tidying up to do and plenty of loose ends to be tied. One of them is Kolo Muani.
Not wanted in Paris, the forward spent this season on loan at Tottenham. He will either go on loan again this year or be sold, depending on the offers that come in.
Juventus keen but not at PSG’s price
A report from Tuttosport in Italy claims that Juventus a team who already had the Frenchman on loan in the past, are keen on a permanent deal. But PSG are holding out for €35m plus bonuses.
That’s a pretty steep ask. And we can see Juve doing their best to battle that down.
A figure of €25m plus bonuses seems far more realistic. But PSG could always loan him again and hope he scores a hatful of goals to raise his value further. They are said to be in “no hurry” to sell the France international.
Kimmich almost joined PSG
In other news, Joshua Kimmich almost joined PSG a couple of years ago. The Bayern Munich midfielder has spoken about the insane offers the club made to try to persuade him to join.
Minimal changes expected
There will be minimal changes to PSG’s first team next season, no matter how much Real Madrid want some of their top stars. The core is set. The starting XI is settled.
But the squad players? That’s a different story.
The bottom line
Kolo Muani is not in PSG’s plans. He knows it. The club knows it. Juventus know it.
But €35m is a lot for a player who has spent the season on loan at Tottenham and hasn’t quite lived up to the hype.
PSG are in no hurry. They can afford to wait. They can afford to loan him again.
Juventus want a bargain. PSG want value.
Something has to give. Or Kolo Muani will be packing his bags for another loan spell somewhere else.
The summer window is long. This one could run until the final days.
