Napoli have made the first move to sign Crysencio Summerville, with sporting director Giovanni Manna already working on a deal to bring the Dutch winger to Serie A .
The 24 year old has finally found his feet at West Ham after a slow start, bagging seven goals and four assists in 27 appearances this season . Now the Italian giants want him.
THE NAPOLI INTEREST
According to Area Napoli, Manna has “already made moves to see if the deal is possible” ahead of the summer window . Antonio Conte is desperate for more firepower in the final third, and Summerville fits the profile, versatile, direct, and finally delivering in the Premier League.
The Hammers will demand around €30 million (£25m) to part with their resurgent Dutchman . That’s not small change, but for a player entering his prime with a growing reputation, it’s not outrageous either.
THE COMPETITION
Napoli aren’t alone in the chase. Several Premier League clubs are monitoring Summerville’s situation, and AS Roma have been linked in the past 12 months . If a bidding war starts, West Ham could push that price higher.
But Napoli have history of landing Premier League talent. They know the drill.
THE PLAYER’S JOURNEY
Summerville’s path hasn’t been straightforward. He spent his formative years in Holland before breaking through at Leeds, then took time to settle at West Ham after his move in August 2024 . But the last few weeks have shown what he’s capable of, scoring goals, creating chances, looking every bit a top flight winger.
THE VERDICT
€30m for a 24 year old with Premier League experience and growing output? That’s a fair price in today’s market.
West Ham won’t want to lose him, especially if they’re fighting to stay up. But if Napoli come calling with serious money, and Summerville gets a taste for Serie A, it could be hard to say no.
Manna’s made the first move. Now it’s over to the player.
