Turkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor have submitted a €15 million (£12.8m) offer to AC Milan for Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze, as the club accelerates its summer rebuild ahead of a demanding 2026/27 campaign.

The proposal, which would represent a significant outlay for the Black Sea Storm, is understood to include potential performance related clauses that could ultimately convert the deal into an obligation to purchase. Milan, who signed the 27 year old winger from Villarreal for €21.1 million in 2023, have yet to issue a formal response to the approach.

Chukwueze remains under contract at San Siro until 2028, but his future has been subject to speculation since an underwhelming loan spell at Fulham last season. During his time in the Premier League, the pacey wideman registered three goals and four assists in 23 league appearances for the Cottagers, rediscovering some of the form that initially attracted Milan’s interest.

The Nigerian’s career trajectory has been one of European football’s more compelling development stories. Villarreal originally acquired him from Nigerian club Diamond Academy for just €500,000 in 2017, before selling him to Milan six years later at a substantial profit following his emergence as one of La Liga’s most electrifying attacking talents.

Trabzonspor are in the midst of an aggressive recruitment drive, having already completed eight signings this window as they prepare for a congested fixture schedule across four competitions. The Turkish Cup holders have qualified for the UEFA Europa League alongside their domestic commitments in the Süper Lig, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Super Cup.

The club already boasts a strong Nigerian contingent, with striker Paul Onuachu, defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, and experienced winger Anthony Nwakaeme all on the books. Trabzonspor have also been linked with another Nigerian forward, Rafiu Durosinmi, as manager Şenol Güneş looks to blend local familiarity with European pedigree in his attacking ranks.

Should the move materialise, Chukwueze would become the latest high profile addition to a squad seeking to mount a sustained challenge on multiple fronts. His dribbling ability, explosive pace, and dangerous left footed deliveries remain highly regarded across the continent, despite his struggles to cement a regular starting role at Milan.

Negotiations are believed to be at an early stage, and it remains unclear whether Milan are prepared to sanction a departure for a player they invested heavily in just three years ago. The coming days are expected to prove pivotal in determining whether the Nigerian international will be plying his trade in Turkey next season.
